UL94 Unleaded Aviation Fuel at KWVI

Updated: Apr 13, 2021

Watsonville Airport is currently gauging pilot interest for making Unleaded UL94 Avgas available on the field (in addition to existing 100LL and JetA). The survey sent out by the City a few months ago only received 50 responses, and although that is a respectable percentage of the total number of aircraft on the field, we know there are so many more tenants and pilots both locally and across the Bay Area in favor of having this cleaner burning fuel available. It's better for your engine, better for the environment, better for our community and it will already work in a majority of general aviation engines.

There will be a second survey coming out soon. The WPA supports and commends the efforts of the Airport to consider taking this step, so please take some time to fill it out once it is distributed. Watsonville Airport has posted a thorough and informative page with everything you need to know:

Leaded gas has been outlawed for automobiles for over 25 years now! There is no better time to start making this change. Watsonville could become the first supplier of UL94 in California and be seen as a leader in this region and in the State. We've even heard from pilots stationed at other airports that they would come to Watsonville specifically to fuel their planes with UL94. The airport will need to see this in the data and deem it an economic viability.

We will keep you posted as we get more information.
